Overview
To prevent duplicate content, JomSocial 3.0.1 brings some changes in how page title for JomSocial object is handled
JomSocial objects included in this improvement are:
- Profile pages of all users
- Group pages of a single user
- Event pages of a single user
- Photo pages of a single user
- Video pages of a single user
Before the change
Prior to JomSocial 3.0.1 all these object had same page title which was pretty much poor when it comes to SEO
For example, search engines would treat all profile pages in every JomSocial community as a duplicate content just because page title was the same for all profiles (page title was profile)
It also goes for every single group, and event page as well as user photos page
After the change
In JomSocial 3.0.1, a very simple, yet very effective change regarding SEO takes place.
We now "inject" the display name of the user into every page title so instead profile for page title on the users page it now becomes Jack's profile, instead just Groups it will become Jack's groups and some goes for photos and events.
