There are two types of events that can be created in JomSocial:
Public events
- Public events can be attended by anyone. The event's information and details can also be viewed by anyone.
Private events
- Unlike public events, users' invitation had to be approved by the event administrator in order for them to attend the event. Events created in private groups can only be viewed and attended by private group members
